What is Dual Yellow Laser?
Dual Yellow Laser is a US-FDA-approved multi-wavelength laser treatment – the green and yellow light is effective for targeting skin concerns such as skin pigmentation particularly melasma, acne, and redness, as well as other vascular lesions such as seborrheic keratosis.
How does Dual Yellow Laser work?
Dual Yellow Laser uses copper bromide-based laser technology that offers two different wavelengths, 511nm and 578nm. These wavelengths correspond well with the absorption peaks for vascular (haemoglobin) and pigmentation (melanin) chromophores. The laser can reach the deep dermis and is absorbed by the pigment without harming surrounding tissue.
The yellow light gently destroys bacteria that cause acne, condenses overactive sebaceous glands, and in turn reduces sebum production to eradicate acne. It also stimulates collagen production in the skin to help even out scars.
Simultaneously during the treatment, the green light targets spots and pigmentation such as melasma, rosacea, brown spots, dark eye circles and freckles caused by ageing or photodamage. The energy is then absorbed by the underlying blood vessels to break down skin pigments and reduce melanin production – all without damaging the surrounding tissues.
