As we age, there is volume loss of the internal facial tissue due to progressive bone resorption, weakening of facial muscles, loss of collagen and deeper fat layer. The skin loses its thickness and elasticity. As a result, there is development of wrinkles, folds and skin laxity with overall saggy appearance.
What is Aesthefill?
Aesthefill is a new generation of collagen-stimulation filler from Korea. Aesthefill is composed of polylactic acid (PDLLA), a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer that has received US FDA approval and is also utilised in lifting thread materials. It naturally encourages skin cells to start making collagen. Aesthefill is a safe and long-lasting neocollagensis filler to restore facial volume for up to 24 months. It works within the deep dermis to stimulate collagen production gradually to resume a well-defined curve on the face.
Aesthefill Vs Traditional Dermal Filler
Aesthefill stimulates collagen regeneration through the injection of polylactic acid.
The treatment effects show a more natural facial volume then other dermal fillers. The volume recovery effect can last as long as 24 months.
How does Aesthefill work?
Injections of Aesthefill are administered directly into the locations of the biggest lesions or all over the face if the skin seems flabby, dry, and atonic. The procedure is finished with a mild massage that uniformly distributes the gel throughout the dermis' inner layers.
When injected, Aesthefill stimulates collagen regeneration through the injection of polylactic acid. The treatment effect shows a more natural facial volume than other fillers. The volume recovery effect can last as long as 24 months. The natural-looking result of Aesthefill will be gradually seen. By helping to replenish the body’s own collagen, it helps to show a plumped and refreshed appearance with a long-lasting result.
What areas can be treated?
Aesthefill is suitable for the correction of folds, wrinkles, and skin laxity and to replace the loss of facial volume due to the process of ageing.
Among the main indications for the use of Aesthefill hydrogel are:
- facial features like sunkissed cheeks, recessed temples, and a nasolacrimal groove.
- scars from surgery and atrophic tissue.
- a breach of the symmetry and volume of the facial features (asymmetry).
- lipodystrophy of the hands, neck, and face, results in elasticity and density loss, drooping and volume loss, and sagging skin.
- deep creases and furrows (nasolabial and pre-maxillary furrows, around the mouth, at the corners of the eyes, and around the lips).
How many sessions are needed?
To obtain an optimal result, a complete treatment of three sessions is recommended. The time interval between each session would be 4-6 weeks.
What to expect during the procedure?
The treatment procedure takes around 60 to 90 min. Average for 2-3 treatments apart from 4 to 6 weeks, result can be immediately seen after the treatment, but like other collagen-stimulation fillers, the results will reduce slightly in a week later due to the water absorbed from the injected areas. It will become more noticeable over the next 1 to 2 months as the new collagen been generated gradually and the long-term result can last for 18 to 24 months.
Is it painful and is there any downtime?
The treatment is painless, there is no rehabilitation, no bruises or swelling.
Downtime varies from individuals. For most it’s not uncommon to experience minor side effects such as redness, tenderness and bruising at and around the injection points. These are temporary and generally resolve after a few days.
Occasionally there may be slight bumpiness in the treated areas which will also resolve on their own in a few days.
Downtime is minimal and you can resume your normal daily activities within 1 to 2 days after the treatment.
What are the possible side effects after injection?
The key component of Aesthefill - PDLLA is an US-FDA approved material derived from 100% natural botanic resources. Although the treatment is safe, some treatment-related reactions may occur, Slight redness and bruising will only last for a few hours to a week.
Hematoma may also occur and would disappear in a few hours to two weeks. Other small papules under the skin in the treated area may happen. These small papules may be visible, and you may notice them only when you press on the treated skin.
How fast can i see result and how long do the effects last?
As collagen takes time to rebuild, improvement will start to show within the first few weeks after each sessions. Thus, facial volume will regained gradually with the reduction of wrinkles.
Depending on individual's body response and lifestyle, the results can last up to 24 months.
